Visit our friendly chickens, harvest some vegetables and flowers, select the best pumpkin, and learn about how our farm has evolved through natural disasters and changing markets the last 45 years.

Pendleton's Country Market is a diversified family farm, growing vegetables, bedding plants, and cut flowers. We provide quality locally produced items with personal service and honest prices. Our pumpkin patch will be open for the Kaw Valley Farm Tour, and we hope to be offering Pick-Your-Own Sweet Potatoes and Green Beans or Peas, depending on the weather. We are located in the Kaw River Valley in an area that was historically known for growing peas, potatoes, and tomatoes that were trucked into Lawrence for processing at the Kaw Valley Cannery. John's grandfather and great-grandfather ran the cannery until the late 1940's.

Visitors will be able to harvest vegetables including sweet potatoes, pumpkins, and green beans. If it does not frost before the tour we will have flowers growing in our flowers high tunnel, and a zinnia demonstration garden may still be blooming. We will offer u-pick zinnias if they are still blooming. We have a number of items in our farm store for people to purchase including: jams, pickles, salsa, honey, dried flowers, local crafts, soaps and lotions. We hope to still have a good amount of vegetables harvested from our fields.

We will have food for children to feed the chickens. We have educational posters around the farm describing our chickens, equipment, growing practices and history of the farm. We will have a map describing everything on the farm and what is to be seen.

Kids can enjoy feeding the chickens, photo opportunities,  u-pick vegetables, trailer rides to the pumpkin patch and sweet potatoes, as well as a scavenger hunt and educational beekeeping demonstrations.
