On Saturday, join us for FARM FEST! In addition to experiencing our 15-acre regenerative farm, you'll see a 20+ vendor market, music, cyclocross path, bouncy house, wildland playground, firetrucks, bookmobile, workshops, and a life-size puppet pageant.
KC Farm School is a 15-acre urban farm in Wyandotte County, Kansas. Our mission is to inspire people of all ages, ancestries, and abilities on-farm, hands-on to connect to land and soil, community, and opportunity. We operate a farm shop three days a week, year-round, and host monthly farmers markets where we sell the produce our farm crew grows as well as value-added items from other local producers. We support emerging growers with shared incubator spaces, shared wash pack and cold storage, and with guidance to scale up to wholesale. We're intricately tied to other farms across Kansas and Missouri aggregating produce to bring more food access to KC and more opportunities to more farmers.
We grow vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers with regenerative, no-till practices. We have several native plant gardens, a fruit orchard, 6000 sf greenhouse, and a huge community garden. We'll have veggies, honey, and a very wide range of farm-produced items and crafts for sale from local artisans and farmers joining for the day.
On Saturday, we'll host the KAW Valley Farm Tour on the same day as FARM FEST, so visitors will see the entire farm, be greeted by our staff and volunteers, be welcome to participate in our many workshops, and shop from 20+ market producers. Kids will play in the bouncy house and build a cardboard village, climb on the Wildland Playground, ride bicycles on our cyclocross path, visits firetrucks, make tie-dye, and even see a live interactive play about life in the soil. We'll also have a free chili lunch.
On Saturday, we'll have bouncy house, cardboard village, wildland playground, face painting, tie-dying, music, chickens, a cyclocross bike maze, firetruck, and bookmobile.
On Sunday, we'll have the wildland playground, farm tours, and goods for sale.
