Since 2018, KC Farm School has been inspiring people of all ages, ancestries, and abilities on-farm, hands-on to connect to land and soil, food, community, and opportunity.
We grow food and teach other people how to grow food and host school field trips, summer camp, Saturday exploring, volunteer opportunities, a paid youth apprenticeship, and we support home gardeners with free plants, supplies, and mentorship. As members of the regional agriculture community, we co-lead the KC FARMERS Coalition and the Wyandotte County Farmers Market Coalition, and are members of the Kansas City Food Hub.
Our food and education are always pay-what-you’re-able because we know that when we all share what we have, we can all have what we need. We practice regenerative agriculture that to us means that we are connected to, caring for, and rebuilding communities- in the soil, among plants and animals, from rural to urban, and within ourselves.
KC Farm School sits on 14.5 acres in SE Wyandotte County. We operate a 6000 sf community greenhouse that we share with 20 other market growers. Our on-site farmers market operates on Wednesdays from 3-7 pm, May through November. We are a Growing Growers host farm. Every year, 13,000 people visit the farm for our workshops, community garden and incubator sites, for hands-on learning, plant sales and giveaways, the farmers market, and Farm Fest.
