eat8flowers is small homestead located outside of McLouth, Kansas. We grow sensory-inspired gardens that invite visitors to touch, smell, taste, and gather edible flowers, herbs, and a rainbow of veggies. We share 3.5 acres with friendly milk goats, little donkeys, and an array of colorful chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese & guinea birds. eat8flowers is also a small bakery. The gardens suggest sweet and savory flower essences that can be combined in my cookies, icing, and breads. *We aim to offer products that are all natural, least processed, & allergen-friendly.* We continue to create a community feel by including students, volunteers, and assistants in both the process of raising a farm and the business of creating farm products and selling at farmers’ markets. We also share our lovely space by hosting interactive farm opportunities like monthly Sunset Parties, Moon Gatherings, & kid Farm-art programs.
eat8flowers farm is very family-friendly. There is lots of space and swings for kids to play while grownups rest and enjoy live musicians. You are also welcome to bring or purchase a snack to picnic under the big tree. I will have both sweet and savory snacks that include herbs from the garden. We invite you to experience the sensory gardens and the butterflies. We will be offering ‘garden scavenger hunts’ to encourage up-close garden interactions. We sell treats that you may feed and gently pet the farm animals. Our small barn is also an open art studio. Both children and kids at heart can experiment with garden-based art projects. Other farm-based products like goat milk soap, herbal salve, and goat meat will be available for sale.
The garden-based art studio will be open for farm tour hours. We will have a chore/milking goat demonstration. And garden tours may be scheduled.
Kid-Friendly Activities:
We have several swings, swing sets, and an art barn studio for garden-based, big and messy art. Kids should wear play clothes and boots as they can run and play and meet the animals.
